We are currently aiming on data analysis and the scientific interpretation of our research results, to publish a paper with the work of my BSc thesis. Our research focused on the optic-electronic properties of tiny nanocrystals named quantum dots. We study the effect that creates the addition of different organic groups to the opto-electronic properties of the dots.

After completing a part of my BSc thesis and successfully presenting it at the 4th Conference of Chemistry of Postgraduate and Undergraduate Students of AUTh (March 20-21, 2021), with the support of my supervisor Prof. Emmanuel N. Koukaras, I met the researcher Dr. Panagiotis Karamani and extended our theoretical study on new semiconductor quantum dots. I successfully conducted quantum mechanical calculations in systems that contained different forms of surface passivation and core chemical synthesis, mainly in Silicon & Germanium dots.

• Beyond Earth Aristotle Missions Team – Science Division     August 2020-May 2021

Participant in the Rexus-Bexus experiment under a bilateral Agency Agreement between the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Agency (SNSA) in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).  

Our team has the ambition to participate in the REXUS/BEXUS experiment competition in November 2021. We were working in the project idea the last two months, and I have created a sub-team in which, we were aiming to conduct a biological experiment with cancer cells in microgravity conditions. I collected as much data and information possible, and I met my university professors to tutor us in many aspects of the experiment.
